In May 2024 we finished our complete restyling of the villa.
Beach and water sports activities
If you want to go to the beach from Casa Burbujas, there are several possibilities.
Hiking, biking and cycling
In Moraira there is the possibility of exploring the area with rented eBikes. This can be done, for example, at Moraira eBikes (Avenida del Portet 29 Moraira). Moraira eBikes also organizes guided tours.
This area is also popular among cyclists. There are many challenging routes with significant height differences.
Walking route Cova de la Cendra in Moraira of about 50 minutes (return) to the giant cave, Cova de la Cendra.
The ‘ Paseo Ecológico’ is a walking route that runs along the coastline of Benissa towards Calpe. It is a beautifully landscaped path, which is accessible all year round. In the hot months it is also good to do because the many bushes and trees provide pleasant shade and thus cooling. The route has a length of 4 kilometers and can be started either in Calpe or in Benissa. It takes about an hour to walk the route from one of the starting points to the end. A route for young and old. Starting point in Benissa: Avinguda de la Marina 307 Benissa.
The gorge at Mascarat. Walking route of about half an hour. You walk under a railroad bridge, through a gully to a cavern. Fun for young and old and on weekends there is often bungee jumping.
For nature lovers, there is the opportunity to climb the great Peñon de Ifach rock. This is located in the coastal town of Calpe. The rock is 332 meters high of which you climb about 150 meters. The climb is doable for beginners. From the top you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Costa Blanca.
17 kilometers from Casa Burbujas is the seaside resort of Xàbia
Near Xàbia are beautiful natural areas. The mountain Montgó with a height of 753 meters offers a beautiful view over Xàbia. From Montgó, on clear days you can see the island of Ibiza 90 kilometers away.
Caves
From the sea you can see beautiful high cliffs that are colored all golden by the morning or evening sun. In those high cliffs are several caves that are sometimes accessible on foot and sometimes only by water.
Cueva de los peces (Fish Cave)
One of the hidden gems of Marina Alta on the Costa Blanca is the turgid blue waters at this fish cave. This cave can only be reached by water. The nearest beach is Cala del Moraig in Benitatxell. From here you can quite easily paddle along the high cliffs and kayak to the cave. The marine life here is also wonderful to see while snorkeling.
Cova del Arcs
The beautiful rock arches are located in the Cumbre del Sol right next to Cala del Moraig. The vistas of this cave are beautiful to see. These rock arches are near Falla del Moraig, a beautiful rock formation with fantastic sea views.
Cova de les Cendres
This cave is quite easy to reach via the path that leads to Torre del Cap d’Or. Somewhere halfway along the path there is a fork. Left to the cave and right to the tower of Moraira.
Tennis and Padel
Near Casa Burbujas you can play tennis as well as padel at several places.
Club de tenis Buena vista Benissa (Carrer el Túdo 19, Benissa)

At AV-karting they have different karts on offer including even a duo kart so that children as young as 4 years old can race together with an adult. Driving alone is possible from 7 years and there are even karts available that can reach 100 km/h. With 5 persons or more it is possible to race together.
Cultural history
The historic town of Benissa is located in the Costa Blanca where its beautiful and charming center stands out in particular. Located 275 meters above sea level, Benissa is one of the oldest villages on the Costa Blanca and lies at the foot of the Bernia. The old town lies between vineyards, olive and almond groves and is an oasis of peace where you can enjoy the silence during your beach vacation on the Costa Blanca.
The old town of Benissa is a maze of narrow streets and beautiful squares, where you can enjoy the local atmosphere and the rich history of the town.
One of the main attractions in Benissa is the castle that dates back to the 13th century and is now a museum: Casa Museo Abargues Benisa.
The bell tower is a symbol of the town and dates back to the 17th century. It offers stunning views of the city and its surroundings.
The magnificent Palace of Torres-Orduña: dates from the 18th century and is built in the Baroque style. It has a beautiful courtyard and is now used as a town hall.
The great white cathedral ‘Parròquia Puríssima Xiqueta i Sant Pere Apòstol’. This ‘sea cathedral’ (60 meters long and 30 meters high) was built by the inhabitants themselves. When visiting the inside of the well-maintained church, you can see a beautiful altar surrounded by beautiful candelabras.
The caves of Les Covetes dels Moros are prehistoric caves dating back to the 11th century and were originally inhabited by the Moors. They offer a fascinating glimpse into Benissa’s past.
Shopping and markets
Moraira is characterized by narrow colorful streets with cozy stores. In bad weather there is the possibility of shopping in the large indoor shopping center of Ondara (Portal de la Marina Shopping Center, Av. Costa Blanca 2, Ondara).
Of course, the cities of Valencia and Alicante are also nearby where you can combine culture with a wonderful day of shopping.
Every day of the week there are several markets in the Moraira area. The market of Moraira is worth a visit. Here you can buy all kinds of things from food to souvenirs. The market is there every Friday morning on the large free parking lot of Moraira (the area behind building Espai la Senieta).
Restaurants
The area has numerous terraces, bars and restaurants.
Every restaurant has a menu del Dia. The daily menu has a very good price-quality ratio. Actually you can’t eat badly anywhere in Spain, but we have some favorites.
